When the eyes are closed, the past and future arise, this is thought.
A voice announcing itself as "I" begins to talk; This is the ego.

The ego masks itself as separate from thought, the seat of the observer it may suppose.
This is the game it plays. This is the nature of the mind.

But when awareness is present, thought and ego dissolve.
This clarity then reveals the true mystery, emptiness.
